Download settings

PDFs download through your browser with the article title as the filename. To choose a save location, enable “Ask where to save each file” in your browser’s download settings.

No local helper, Python or operating-system setup is required. Cloud retrieval checks original repositories, PMC, accessible publisher PDFs, then Sci-Hub, Z-Library and Library Genesis. Each source may require sign-in or browser verification. Some papers still require institutional access.

Your browser may ask for permission before starting an automatic download.

Open an article source?

The selected sources did not retrieve a PDF automatically. Check the source history for unavailable sites or required verification. Choose an official article or third-party source below. Sources may require you to sign in or complete verification in your browser. Nothing opens until you select a link.

The official article link resolves to the publisher or original repository. Third-party links open the matching DOI search directly; opening a source does not mean a PDF is available. You may need to sign in through your institution and download the PDF there.

Optional browser connector

For Chrome and Edge on desktop. Open a source in a new tab, complete verification or sign-in yourself, and let the connector return an available PDF to this page. A paused ZIP continues with the next paper.

  1. Download the connector ZIP and extract it to a folder you keep.
  2. Open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions, turn on Developer mode, then choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder.
  3. Reload Citation Workflow. The page should say Connector connected.
  4. When a source is blocked, choose Verify & continue. Keep the new tab on the requested paper and open its PDF if needed. You can cancel or skip the paper.

This is an unpacked extension, not a Chrome Web Store listing. It can read only its listed source sites and this app. Source sessions remain in your browser; PDF bytes are held in this page for download/ZIP and are not uploaded to Cloudflare. Site access restrictions and unsupported download hosts may still prevent retrieval. Installing the connector is optional; normal cloud downloads work without it.
